Get ready, Marvel fans! The latest teaser for Avengers: Doomsday is here, and it's bringing together some of the biggest names in the MCU! This time, the spotlight shines on a team-up we've all been waiting for: Black Panther and the Fantastic Four.
This highly anticipated film, directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, is set to hit theaters on December 18th, courtesy of Disney. The movie promises an epic showdown with a massive ensemble cast, including the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
The new trailer, released online, features Shuri (Letitia Wright), who took on the mantle of Black Panther in Wakanda Forever following the tragic loss of her brother, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman).
"I’ve lost everyone that matters to me," Wright's voiceover reveals in the trailer. "A king has his duties to prepare our people for the afterlife. I have mine.”
We also see M’Baku (Winston Duke), now the King of Wakanda, and a glimpse of Namor (Tenoch Huerta), who made his MCU debut in Wakanda Forever.
One of the most exciting moments in the teaser is the introduction of the Fantastic Four to the leaders of Wakanda. Ben Grimm, aka The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), exchanges words with King M’Baku. The rest of the Fantastic Four – Mr. Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), the Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), and the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) – will also be making their appearances after their debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
This teaser is the fourth in a series of online releases, with previous clips showcasing Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and the X-Men's Cyclops (James Marsden).
But here's where it gets controversial... Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Doctor Doom is a major talking point. After Iron Man's heroic sacrifice in Avengers: Endgame, how will Doctor Doom's presence affect the narrative?
Marvel Studios revealed the extensive cast in March, with Downey as the centerpiece. Doomsday will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars a year later.
