"TSA PSA: The body scanners don't love sparkles," the agency warns on its Facebook page. And this is the part most people miss: those festive, glittery outfits might just land you in a longer security line.
While your sparkly holiday sweater might be perfect for the party, the TSA suggests leaving it for after your flight. Why? Because the shimmer can trigger additional security checks, and with airports expected to be busier than ever, every second counts.
The warning comes at a crucial time, as holiday travel reaches record levels. According to AAA, a whopping 8.03 million travelers are expected to take to the skies this season.
